TMJ

Your jaw affects more than chewing. TMJ issues can show up as headaches, facial pain, clicking, popping, neck tension, or a bite that feels off. At Restore, we look at how your jaw, bite, muscles, and airway work together so we can help you find a path toward comfort.

What to Expect:

We’ll evaluate your jaw, bite, and muscle tension to understand the source of discomfort and create a plan that supports comfort and function.

What is TMJ

When the joints, muscles, or bite are not working together well, it can lead to TMD, or temporomandibular joint disorder. Many people still use “TMJ” when talking about jaw pain or jaw dysfunction.

When Your Jaw Does Not Feel Right

Jaw pain can be easy to ignore until it starts affecting everyday life. You may notice popping when you chew, soreness in your face or neck, morning headaches, or tension that keeps coming back.

TMJ care at Restore is focused on understanding the source of discomfort, not just masking symptoms. We look at the way your bite, jaw joints, muscles, and overall oral function work together.

Don't Know TMJ

Signs TMJ Issues May be Affecting You

You may benefit from a sleep apnea evaluation if you experience:

Jaw Popping or Clicking

Jaw Pain or Soreness

Headaches or Migraines

Neck, Shoulder, or Facial Tension

Teeth Grinding or Clenching

Difficulty Chewing

Trouble Opening Fully

Locking of the Jaw

For children, signs may also include mouth breathing, restless sleep, bedwetting, behavioral changes, or difficulty focusing.

Our Approach to TMJ Care

At Restore, we look at the full picture: your jaw joints, bite, muscles, tooth wear, airway, and development. TMJ discomfort can come from different causes, so your care should not be one-size-fits-all.

Depending on your needs, your plan may include splint therapy, bite balancing, orthodontic support, restorative care, myofunctional therapy, or other treatment designed to support comfort and function.
